Baby No. 2: W18

Last night, while lounging at the sofa after I’d finished every chores, I felt the baby moving in my belly. It’s a tiny thud, like she swing her hand and tap my belly. I was doubting if it was me imagining things, but then just right now, I felt it again. It was surreal yet familiar. Kinda forgot how it felt like.

Christmas Holiday.

The last few days we had been wrapped in a big bubble of happiness. Our days were spent with catching up with family & friends, swimming, major scrumptious food consumption, movie nights, house chores, buying & opening presents, visiting the zoo,  plus some hours of not doing anything at all. It was one of those rare holidays that I really really cherish. As usual, I love documenting our life events so below are some pics that would summaries this precious holiday!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & a Happy New Year!

New Year Resolution 2016.

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

This year I do not have any ambitious of life changing resolutions, instead I want to write a realistic ones so that I can live happier, healthier and joyfully, one day at a time. So here goes:

Breastfeeding
With baby no.2, I want to try breastfeeding for a longer period this time around. My first experience with JH was really hard as I had excruciating pain from the labour, hence I was put off by it. Also, my previous company does not have a facility for nursing mothers and I was on the run all the time as soon as I get back to work. I hope I can do better this year with baby no. 2.

Buying less = buying better
Ever since we shifted home, hubbs and I had been focusing on cluttering for the past year. We realized that more often we purchase things that we don’t need, just because it was on sale or that the price is exceptionally low. Instead now we learned to purchase things base on value, sustainability and practicality.

Change my mindset/attitude towards my job
Since I made a career move 6 months ago, it had been the most challenging period of my life, trying to juggle my time and role between family & career. But I’ve slowly learned to put aside personal feeling when it comes to dealing with problems and people from my job. I’m learning to be tougher, stronger in order to enhance my skills and development as a better designer.

Cut down food wastage
Since living on our own, I had strive to cook more to save money as well as to encourage my family to eat healthy. Not the best cook but I try my best. One thing I learned though is that if you don’t plan you meals preparation/grocery list, it can lead to plenty of food wastage. So this year, my aim is to plan our meals better and hopefully 0 wastage when it comes to food.

Spending quality time with JH
With a growing belly, hubbs and I were pretty anxious how JH’s gonna react with his future baby bro/sis, heck, we ourselves don’t even know how we’re gonna handle it! So I want to make sure that we’ll be able to spend quality time with him before the birth of baby no.2. We’d been resuming our walks in the park (like we used to), brought him swimming, and lots of outdoor activities. I know it’s gonna be hard on him later on but for now I just want to have a good fun time with him.

Inspiration through pages.

Screenshot_2016-02-13-16-05-35Today, we went for brunch at a new found cafe & coffee bar near our home. I would describe the place as: simple, intricate, sun-drenched with an adorned setting. Both hubbs and I were so in love with the black & white adorned setting. I looked at him and sad: “if we were to own our cafe, this is exactly how it’s gonna look like. The food was scrumptious and coffee was good! Besides my toddler who refuses to eat his food, everything else was perfect. Then I stumble upon an issue of antholgy, which was one of my favourite design magazine, besides anthropologie, wallpaper & cereal. As I flip through the pages, it reminded me how did I fall in love with art & design in the first place. Every page, every visuals vividly reminds my passion and love for design. Almost a decade since I finished college and started working, I’ve gotten so immersed and attuned to getting the job done that sometimes I kinda forgot the fundamentals of my career – to design with a story. Its amazing how those few minutes of reading and browsing can do to inspire me to be a better designer.

BABY NO. 2: W15

  • Can’t fit my old pants anymore. Leggings is my everyday go-to these days.
  • My bump seems more prominent compared to my first pregnancy with JH. I hardly show when I was 5 months preggie.
  • Less fatigue in the morning. I can hop off my bed when the clock strikes 6:45am and I start my day prepping breakfast/dinner for the family.
  • Gain a lot of appetite, like a lot! I’ve been consuming whenever I feel hungry, and whatever happens to be most convenient. There was once my boss as if I were eating for 5. 😛
  • I’ve got myself a serious case of Baby Brain. I will go up and down the stairs in the office just because I forgot to collect the drawings that I printed out, while on my way to fill up the water bottle; or at times when I think of a question to ask, and realised that I’ve forgotten what my question was…. it was pretty embarrassing.
  • Can’t wait to find out baby no.2’s gender on our next check up!
